Wildlife in your own backyard. (Or close to it.)
Not everyone can up and pop over to Africa or the Amazon…or even a local zoo.
So how do you photograph wildlife? It’s easier than you think.
1) Photograph a Bird.
Whether you live in the country or in the city, birds are never far away. Pigeons in the park, crows, sparrows, robins in your yard – or maybe if you’re lucky enough an owl or a hawk lives nearby.
2) Frogs or Toads.
Do you have a pond nearby? How about a community garden with a small water pool?
3) Insects or Bugs.
Could you get a picture of a fly from a unique angle? What about a butterfly or dragonfly? What about a beetle or a ladybug?
4) Turtles.
Fun to find, fun to photograph! I’ve had the best luck finding turtles sunning themselves in spring or fall.
